Privacy Policy

Retire Slider, published by Yellow Sun Systems LLC. Last updated 19 August 2026.

This policy covers the Retire Slider website and the Retire Slider apps for iOS and Android.

This is the current version, and it ships with the app you are using: the copy you are reading is the copy the app was built with.

Your plan data never leaves your device unless you export or back it up.

Retire Slider has no account, no sign-in, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. What you enter — your ages, balances, salaries, Social Security amounts and state of residence, and the optional first names, labels and scenario names you type — is used only by code running on your own device and is never transmitted to Retire Slider. Device backup and files you choose to export are described below.

1. Calculator data we do not collect

We operate no database, user accounts or back end that receives your plan figures. We do not know which figures you entered and cannot produce them in response to a request because Retire Slider never receives them. If you contact us, that correspondence is different and is described in section 8.

2. Where your figures go

Every calculation stays on your device. The only copies outside live app/browser storage are ones created by device backup or by an export you choose. The whole model — the Monte Carlo simulation, the federal and state tax engine, the Medicare and estate estimates, and the PDF report — runs on your device, in the web page or in the app. In the apps this is enforced from the outside as well as the inside: neither makes a network request of any kind, the web view refuses every URL scheme but its own bundled one, the same content security policy described below ships with every file in the bundle, and on iOS no App Transport Security exception is declared. On the website the page's content security policy sets connect-src 'none', which means the browser itself refuses fetch, XHR, beacon, WebSocket and EventSource connections. The current app does not send plan inputs to Retire Slider or any third party.

3. What is stored on your device

Your inputs are saved in your browser's local storage, or in the app's own private storage, so they are still there next time you open Retire Slider. That includes any first names you enter, the names you give to scheduled amounts such as a pension or a new roof, and any scenarios you build with their names. Some of what you enter is personal in a way a balance is not, and it is worth naming: your own assessment of how long you expect to live, a state you are thinking of moving to, and the age, length and cost of a spell of long-term care you want to plan for. Those are assumptions you type into a model, not records of anything, and they are treated exactly like every other figure here — kept in app or browser storage and never sent to Retire Slider. They stay on your device until you remove them. You are in control of this:

This storage is local to your device and is not synced to us. We cannot read it. On iPhone and iPad your saved plan is included in your encrypted iCloud backup, like other app data, so it survives a device restore or transfer to a new phone; that copy goes to Apple under Apple’s terms, never to us. The Android app switches its backup off entirely, so nothing is copied off the device there. On the website, the saved plan is only as private as your browser profile. Your browser or password manager may separately offer to remember the optional first name; that copy is controlled by that service, not by Clear Data.

4. No tracking, ads, or remote scripts

There is no tracking of any kind — no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting, no social media pixels, no error-reporting service. The libraries Retire Slider uses (jsPDF, jsPDF-AutoTable and Tailwind CSS) are served from Retire Slider itself, or bundled inside the app, rather than loaded from a content delivery network. Fly.io (website hosting), Apple (App Store and optional iCloud backup), Google Play, and the email host that receives mail you send to us operate their own slices; none of them receive calculator fields from the app. We do not sell, rent or share plan data. Nothing you do here is used to build a profile of you or to train any model.

5. Files you export

The PDF Report and File Save features write your complete financial profile to a file — including names, sex and longevity assumptions, event labels and scenarios. Nothing is uploaded — on the web the file is generated in your browser and saved by your browser; in the app it is handed to the system share sheet or chooser, where you choose the destination. But once that file exists it is only as private as wherever you put it. Take care before emailing it, printing it or saving it to shared cloud storage.

6. What the web server sees

Neither app contacts a server at all, so this section applies only to the website. Android declares the INTERNET permission only because its WebView uses a virtual local origin; the app blocks every real network load. The web server that delivers the page has access logging switched off, so it does not write a record of requests. It never receives your inputs, because they are never sent. Our hosting provider operates the network in front of that server and may keep operational connection logs for reliability and abuse prevention under its own policy and control. The server's error log may also record an address and path when a request fails; successful requests are not access-logged. We do not set or know the provider's exact retention period. Those logs concern network traffic, not anything you typed into the calculator.

7. Children

Retire Slider is a retirement planning tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect calculator data from children or anyone else.

8. Your rights

Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete and port the personal information a company holds about you, and to opt out of its sale. We hold no calculator or plan data, so there is nothing from the calculator for us to disclose, correct, delete, export or sell. If you email us, our email hosting service processes your email address, message, ordinary delivery headers and any attachment so we can answer and administer the request. We keep that correspondence for 24 months after the last reply, or longer if needed for a security incident or a legal obligation. You may ask us to delete it, subject to those needs. Your calculator data is already entirely in your own hands: it is on your device, and Clear Data… erases it without asking us. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will confirm what we know.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a future version of Retire Slider ever collects or transmits anything, that would be a material change: we would say so here plainly and describe exactly what and why, rather than broadening this policy quietly to permit it.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy: privacy@yellowsunsystems.com. Messages are handled by our email hosting service as described in section 8. Because we do not have your figures on our servers, please do not send balances or account details to that address.
